The New Shape of Aetion: A Visual System for a Unified Product Suite

In real-world evidence, clarity is key.

It underpins the ability to transform longitudinal data into defensible results, trace decisions back to their source, and enable teams to confidently generate actionable evidence by designing studies, analyzing data, preparing submissions, and reviewing outputs.

At Aetion®, our platform is built to deliver that clarity, and our visual identity is designed to reinforce it at every touchpoint.

That’s why we’ve introduced a new design system across Aetion Evidence Platform® and its core modules—Substantiate, Discover, Generate, and Activate—as well as across our broader ecosystem, including Aetion® Academy, Aetion® Support, and Aetion® Data Network. Each new logo is a visual representation of the structure and connectedness at the core of our technology: modular components working seamlessly as one unified system.

This design evolution is the next step in aligning the platform’s performance with its experience—visually, operationally, and functionally.

 

Making Structure Visible

Real-world evidence (RWE) is complex by nature. It spans fragmented data, multi-step workflows, and regulatory expectations that leave no room for ambiguity. What’s needed is structure across platforms, outputs, and teams.

Our new identity makes that structure tangible.

Each symbol in the updated system stems from a single geometric origin: the circular “O” in the Aetion logomark. This shape anchors every module icon and builds into stacked, interlinked forms repeated throughout the platform. Together, they illustrate how each part of Aetion functions independently, yet remains integrated within a cohesive system.

This geometric, modular approach creates a scalable visual language and consistency across every aspect of the Aetion experience, from platform UI to documentation to communications.

It reflects Aetion’s core principle: an integrated, purpose-built framework for delivering decision-grade evidence.

 

A Brand That Tells the Full Story

In healthcare technology, delivering great software and providing excellent service are only part of the equation. Telling a compelling story that captures the brand's full value is equally essential.

Our design team—drawing from agency backgrounds and deep communication expertise—recognized a gap in how our visual identity represented the sophistication of our platform. One afternoon, a casual whiteboard session turned into a creative sprint as we began experimenting with new possibilities for logo creation and design direction while keeping the integrity of the Aetion brand at the forefront.

The result is a modular visual system built to reflect who we are today and scale as our platform continues evolving. It combines form and function to help us tell a clearer, more consistent brand story throughout the user experience.

 

Designed for the Work That Matters

This update accompanies recent platform improvements informed by real workflows.

In Substantiate, we added custom plot color selection in results, supporting study teams that must present findings clearly and consistently across review cycles.

In Discover, we replaced static metric cards with dynamic visual displays so analytics leads and scientific reviewers can spot patterns faster and focus attention where it matters most.

Every design decision intentionally supports RWE workflows from early exploration to submission-ready output.

 

Extending Across the Ecosystem

This alignment carries through to Aetion Academy and Aetion Support, where users deepen their fluency in the platform and learn to apply best practices. In Aetion Academy,  study leads, new users, and regulatory strategists gain structured guidance on cohort creation, measure definition, validation standards, and platform workflows. Meanwhile, Aetion Support now delivers a more consistent, streamlined experience—from ticket resolution to knowledge navigation—all grounded in the same language, logic, and visual system.

Whether reviewing a protocol, onboarding a new team member, or preparing a dataset for submission, the Aetion experience is now more cohesive both visually and operationally. Our updated identity reinforces not just how the platform looks but also how it feels to use, day to day, module to module, and milestone to milestone.

 

Why This Change Matters Now

Expectations around RWE are rising. Review cycles are accelerating. Internal timelines are tighter. And teams must translate raw data into defensible findings quickly, clearly, and repeatedly.

Every part of the experience—interface, interaction, and identity—should support that work. As this updated visual system evolves, it will guide new UI components, streamline onboarding, and improve interoperability across modules, making it easier for teams to move through the platform consistently and confidently.
